Cheshire Retail (NW) Ltd

Partner: Propel Finance
Region: North West
Location: St Helens
Programme: ENABLE Funding

Since opening its first shop in 2010, Cheshire Retail (NW) Ltd now serves customers across St Helens, Birkenhead, Runcorn and The Wirral through a 10-strong portfolio of discount retail premises.

The business needed flexible financing to support its expansion plans to buy and re-develop new stores, while balancing ‘on the ground’ cashflow when managing stock levels and wages for staff at existing stores.

Propel Finance, through the British Business Bank’s ENABLE Funding programme, has supported Cheshire Retail (NW) Ltd with £83,800 of asset finance, in a partnership arrangement with shop-fitting specialist Retail Outlet Design.

Funding is transferred directly between Propel Finance to Retail Outlet Design, enabling Cheshire Retail (NW) Ltd to hit ambitious expansion targets efficiently and on time.

Navi Soni, Director at Cheshire Retail (NW) Ltd said: “Through asset finance, we were able to keep money in the bank for stock, while still opening new stores. I’m ambitious and need to move fast and as soon as I have signed on a store, I hand Retail Outlet Design the keys and they turn it around, before Propel Finance pays them directly – it’s a great collaboration.”
