"As the UK Government’s economic development bank supporting smaller businesses with access to finance, we have environmental, social and governance principles embedded at the heart of everything we do. It is in our DNA.

"We want to protect the environment and we are supporting smaller businesses as they transition to net zero. We strive to unlock the potential of people and break down barriers in access to finance. And through it all we promote fairness, accountability, responsibility and transparency in our own operations and those we work with.

"It is only by embedding sustainability in its broadest sense across the Bank that we can deliver on our mission to drive sustainable growth and prosperity across the UK, and to enable the transition to a net zero economy, by improving access to finance for smaller businesses."
