Joanna is the Interim CRO of the British Business Bank.
Prior to joining the bank, she was the Director of Enterprise Risk at Santander UK for 4 years. During this time, she was responsible for the development and oversight of the firm’s Risk Framework, Appetite and Stress Testing along with Strategic and Business, Capital, Model and Climate Risks.
Joanna has 3 decades of financial services expertise across global banking, fintech and payments firms. She has held roles as Chief Risk Officer and Board Director of GE Capital UK Bank, Chief Risk Officer of RateSetter and at Visa Europe where she was interim Director of Enterprise Risk. Joanna is a seasoned risk officer with strategic M&A experience and has operated under regulatory regimes in the UK, USA and France. She started her career at NatWest where she became a leveraged finance banker, lending to companies in a breadth of sizes, industries and geographies.
Joanna holds a degree in Management Studies and Spanish from the University of Leeds.
