Overview
Investor Pathways Capital is a £400 million initiative from the British Business Bank to support high potential individuals from a wide range of backgrounds to launch their first venture capital (VC) funds and build their investment track records.
The initiative aims to:
- Widen access and lower barriers to venture capital by creating more pathways for high-potential individuals to enter and progress within the ecosystem.
- Increase the amount of diverse investment talent in UK venture capital.
- Increase the amount of first-time venture fund managers in the UK market.
Strategy
Investor Pathways Capital will deploy capital across three key segments:
Microfunds (£5m-20m fund size)
For high-potential individuals looking to raise their first venture fund, who have tried to raise a fund and encountered personal and systemic barriers.
Talent funds (£30m-70m fund size)
For experienced fund managers looking to raise a venture vehicle to identify and develop new investors.
Other strategies
We welcome proposals aligned to the initiative’s mission of widening access to early-stage investing and helping to build a more inclusive pipeline of future investors in the UK.
