British Business Bank appoints Joanna Wright as its new Interim Chief Risk Officer

The British Business Bank has appointed Joanna Wright as its new Interim Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective from May 2025.
Joanna Wright joins the British Business Bank from Santander UK, where she was Director of Enterprise Risk. In this role, she was responsible for the development and oversight of the firm’s Risk Framework, Appetite and Stress Testing along with Strategic and Business, Capital, Model and Climate Risks.
Joanna has three decades of financial services expertise across global banking, fintech, and payments firms. She has held roles as Chief Risk Officer and Board Director of GE Capital UK Bank, Chief Risk Officer of RateSetter and at Visa Europe where she was Interim Director of Enterprise Risk. Joanna is a seasoned risk officer with strategic experience in mergers and acquisitions and has operated under regulatory regimes in the UK, USA and France.
