Reason for commitment from British Business Bank
The Bank first invested in an SV Health Investors fund in 2018 and has since made commitments to a total of five funds – three biotech and two dementia-focused.
Aligns with the Bank’s strategy to support the UK’s most promising companies in the life sciences sector.
Example previous investments by the manager
EyeBio (bought by Merck & Co for up to $3bn), Artios, Draig Therapeutics, Alchemab and Sitryx.
In December 2025, the Bank made its then largest ever commitment to SV8 Biotech Fund LP, $100m of the $500m target total fund size. The decision to do so followed the Bank’s robust due diligence process and Investment Committee approval.
