Founded in 2009, Notion Capital is a London-based VC firm managing over €1.7bn of Venture and Growth Capital. Notion is a Pan-European investor in early-stage venture business software.
Notion has been exclusively investing in this sector since inception, capitalising on multiple supercycles including Web 2.0, Cloud, Saas, and AI.
In 2015, Notion established its Operating Partner led Platform team comprised of five full time dedicated experts who provide go-to-market support to its portfolio companies. Notion has completed over 150 investments across six Early stage Venture Funds and three Growth Opportunities Funds.
Reason for commitment from British Business Bank
The British Business Bank has invested in eight Notion funds (five core venture strategy funds and three growth stage, opportunities funds), with the most recent commitment of €60m into Notion Capital VI Fund.
As such, it is a long-standing relationship through which the British Business Bank has supported a UK-based manager scale into a “full-stack” investor with an established venture strategy, a growing scale-up stage strategy, and wider support platform for its portfolio.
This investment aligns with the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy in core sectors of Advanced Manufacturing, Defence, Digital & Technology, Financial Services and Professional & Business Services
