The British Business Bank is the UK’s economic development bank and the largest investor in UK venture capital and venture growth capital funds. BGP Fund I opens up the Bank’s investment platform to external investors. The Fund will be advised by the Bank’s regulated subsidiary, BBB Investment Services Limited, and managed by Langham Hall as the regulated AIFM.
The British Business Bank has made a significant anchor commitment to the Fund of up to £60 million.
Strategy
As a UK-focused growth fund centred on the high growth and innovative sectors of technology and life sciences, BGP Fund I will leverage the Bank’s scale, networks, and track record and build on the Bank’s established co-investment strategy, to invest in some of the highest potential scale-ups in the Bank’s venture capital pipeline.
