Talent Funds

In progress

Access to venture capital careers and investment opportunities is often limited by reliance on “friends and family” capital and closed networks.

This can make it harder for high-potential individuals, who have proven talent but lack the financial resources and connections, to secure the early-stage capital needed to make investments. As a result, the pool of professional investors remains less diverse, and the market misses out on the innovation, perspectives, and opportunities these individuals could bring to the venture ecosystem.

The Investor Pathways Capital initiative aims to address these challenges by investing as a Limited Partner in early-stage, talent-focused funds (£30 million - £70 million total fund size). Experienced fund managers will be selected to identify and back emerging and underrepresented talent, who act as de facto fund managers, gaining hands-on experience in sourcing and managing investments - without having to set up their own fund.

These individuals may include those who have not previously invested but want to build a career in venture capital. Alongside funding, Talent Funds should also provide mentoring and structured training to help participants develop the skills required to become future fund managers.

The Talent Funds segment will run an iterative, evergreen application process over initiative's the four-year delivery period. Full launch details, the application process and eligibility criteria, will be provided in financial year 2026.
