Venturefest West Midlands takes place on Thursday 27 June 2017 at the NEC, Birmingham. This one-day event will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and innovators to meet, engage, and discuss ideas. The programme offers networking opportunities along with a forum for presenting practical advice, stimulating ideas and funding options to entrepreneurs and start-ups particularly in the fields of science, knowledge and technology.
Patrick Magee, Chief Commercial Officer of the British Business Bank, will speak and sit on panel for Pitchfest in the afternoon.
Pitchfest is a pitching competition for business owners, presents a unique opportunity for businesses to raise their profile both in the West Midlands and in front of a national audience of investors. Business owners are invited to present their ideas in a pitch for investment and stand a chance of winning one of several awards. There are workshops available to help business owners improve their pitching technique, as well as panel rounds to hone their presentation. Final pitches of Pitchfest will take place at the event.
Speakers at the event include founders and CEOs of a variety of start-up and established SMEs, as well as representatives of Innovate UK, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and local universities. There are plenty of opportunities to network, with Pitchfest businesses exhibiting in the main area, as well as stands from other businesses, universities, Growth Hubs and business support organisations. There will also be a dedicated networking zone with Open Innovation Live, Meet Someone New and the chance to test your creativity. Lunch is included.
